Yachiyo of America Inc. brings 200-plus jobs to Carroll County
Automotive supplier to invest $30 million in new manufacturing facility
CARROLLTON, GA – Yachiyo of America Inc. announced today they will locate a $30 million manufacturing operation in Carrollton, Georgia creating more than 200 jobs within three years.
Yachiyo, a globally recognized automotive supplier, will construct a 130,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the Carrollton Industrial Park. The new facility will be an expansion of the company’s current North American plastic fuel tank and sunroof production capacity.
Gov. Nathan Deal stated that Yachiyo joins an ever-growing group of automotive leaders in Georgia.
“Our strategic location at the center of the Southeast, which is the nation’s new hub for automotive manufacturing, and the workforce experience generated by more than our 100 years of experience in this industry, have contributed to a business climate that has already attracted some 250 automotive manufacturers,” Deal said.
Yachiyo will utilize Georgia’s renowned Quick Start program for associate training with assistance from West Georgia Technical College.
Chris Smith, Vice President of Yachiyo of America Inc., in confirming Yachiyo’s decision stated, “We have been extremely pleased with the high level of interest, cooperation and support received from the State of Georgia and Carroll County, which played a decisive role in our decision making process.”
He went on to acknowledge that the assistance from Brian Dill at the local level and Brittany Holtzclaw at the State level was extremely valuable in bringing this project from concept to reality.
“We are very proud to welcome Yachiyo to our community and we stand ready to assist them in their continued prosperity for the benefit of our citizens,” stated Carrollton Mayor Wayne Garner.
The city government, along with the Carrollton Payroll Development Authority and Carroll County Development Authority, were instrumental in working with Carroll Tomorrow and the Georgia Department of Economic Development on this project.
