O’Charley’s in Carrollton Honors Active Duty Soldiers as Part of Reopening Celebrations

 

Local Army and Air Force Sergeants named Hometown Heroes by O’Charley’s

Carrollton, GA — As part of the restaurant’s reopening celebration, O’Charley’s on South Highway 27 recognized several active duty Army and Air Force Sergeants from local military recruiting offices as Hometown Heroes. The recognition took place on Monday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the restaurant, and included a performance from the Carroll County Orchestra and color guard flag presentation from the Carrollton Police Department.

The active duty service members honored included:

Staff Sergeant Jared Bryant, U.S. Air Force. Bryant joined the Air Force in 2006 and served a deployment to Guam in 2009. He holds an Air Force Achievement Medal and Air Force Accommodation Medal.

Sergeant Rashad Wood, U.S. Army. Wood joined the Army in 2006 and has served two deployments; one to Afghanistan from December 2008 through December 2009, and a second to Iraq from May 2011 through December 2011. He was awarded to Combat Action Badge.

Staff Sergeant Benjamin Staniszewski, U.S. Army. Staniszewski joined the Army in 2007 and has served a one-year deployment to Iraq from August 2009 through August 2010, as well as a deployment to Afghanistan from August 2012 through May 2013. He holds an Air Crew Badge.

Staff Sergeant Kyle Williams, U.S. Army. Williams joined the Army in 2007 and has served a one-year deployment to Haiti from January 2009 through May 2009, as well as a deployment to Iraq in 2011. He holds a Senor Parachutist Badge.

Sergeant Brandon Lawson, U.S. Army. Lawson joined the Army in 2005 and has served three one-year tours to Iraq; September 2005 through September 2006, October 2007 through October 2008 and October 2009 through October 2010. He was awarded the Combat Action Badge and also holds a German Proficiency Badge.

Sergeant First Class and Center Commander Danielle Robinson, U.S. Army. Robinson joined the Army in 2004 and has served deployments to Iraq from 2006 through 2007 and 2008 through 2009. She was awarded the Combat Action Badge.

O’Charley’s is honoring Hometown Heroes at 40 remodeled restaurant locations this year in conjunction with the company’s revitalization and reimaging plan. O’Charley’s has a longstanding history of honoring veterans and active duty soldiers. More than 50 individuals were honored during last year’s Hometown Hero programs.
