(Carrollton, Ga. – October 29, 2014) Bowdon Elementary School is very proud to announce that it has received the Dollar General Literacy Foundation Grant awarded to schools seeking to make an impact on communities through literacy. The grant, written by Patty Harman and Shoney Brice, was used to purchase magazines and Ipad minis which are used in the reading program designed for the grant. Four teachers, Brandy Cook, Linda Durham, Mandy Cardell and Sharon Johnson, work with students each morning before school to improve students’ reading and writing skills. Each of these teachers volunteer their time while they utilize the resources purchased through this grant to make a difference in the lives of children.
