On November 5, 2014, Bowdon High School FBLA had the opportunity to embark on a journey to “Step Up To The Challenge” at National Fall Leadership Conference (NFLC) in Washington, D.C. Future Business Leaders of America members were educated through professional development and career planning workshops. Great keynote speakers for the opening and closing general sessions got FBLA members motivated to become more involved with this amazing organization. We visited the exhibits for information about universities and colleges, new technologies, and fundraising opportunities.

Attending National Fall Leadership Conference allowed us to, not only, network with members, advisers, national staff, and national officers before the end of the year, but also visit our great Nation’s Capital. The opportunity to visit buildings, monuments, and places we only talk about in history was very exciting. We began our adventure riding the Metro to FBLA National Headquarters in Reston, VA where we enjoyed a tour of the building as well as meeting the key people that make up FBLA-PBL. We went on to visit several Smithsonian exhibits throughout the day with a walking tour through the Monuments that night. On the last day we visited Arlington Cemetery where we watched the changing of the guard and the changing of the wreath ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with all the Veterans of war standing from their wheelchairs.
