BREMEN, GA., Feb. 1, 2015 / Peoples Community National Bank is changing their name to American Commerce Bank, N.A. Now one of the strongest banks in Georgia, the company is looking to capitalize on its successes by giving the brand a facelift. The holding company name will also change to American Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Larry Mathews, President and CEO said, “It is important to understand that the bank is not being acquired and we are not merging with another institution. As we begin to look for new opportunities, this is simply the next step in our process to better serve our customers.” The new name and the new logo have been introduced to reflect how the bank, recognized as one of the strongest banks in the state of Georgia as measured by total capital, has changed over time.

Today, American Commerce Bank offers a complete range of financial services and solutions designed to meet customers’ personal, family and business banking needs. We offer personal loans, car loans, mortgages as well as many others. For businesses, our specialized lending team can meet the credit needs of virtually any company. We offer loans to acquire and expand businesses, owner occupied and non-owner occupied commercial real estate, farm lending such as poultry and cattle operations, as well as receivables, equipment and inventory financing. We specialize in USDA and SBA government guaranteed lending.

“The company’s rebranding initiative is part of an overall effort to better position the bank for growth and acquisition efforts in the future,” says Larry Mathews, President and CEO. “The name change will have virtually no impact on customers, as their account numbers will not be changed and debit cards as well as checks issued under the Peoples Community National Bank brand will continue to be viable. As those cards expire and checks run out, customers will be reissued new cards and checks with the American Commerce Bank name. There will be no disruption to normal business operations and hours at any of the bank’s offices during the transition to the new brand,” he said. Mathews said, “the bank’s new name better reflects its evolution from a small community bank, to a broader and more comprehensive financial institution.

While we are proud of our heritage as a small community bank and remain committed to the local communities we have been serving for the past decade, the bank has evolved into something more. The name is also meant to provide better clarity in markets beyond the West Georgia region,” Mathews said. He continued, “Our new name will help us improve our growth rate in newer markets and in markets that may be entered as a result of future expansion.” “While the bank’s name and logo are changing, the bank is not making any other significant changes in our daily operations,” Mathews said. “The bank is committed to remaining a vital part of the communities that we serve. We will continue to treat our customers like the valued friends and neighbors that they are.

There are no planned changes to the management team or staff.” Contact information or interview request: Trudy Eller – Corporate Secretary, 678-821-1514 – Press Release from Jeff Bush – Vice President
