Villa Rica Middle Wins at the FBLA Regional Competition

(Carrollton,Ga.-March3,2015) A​t the Region7 FBLA Awards Ceremony, Villa Rica Middle School’s FBLA chapter received 12 medals. Medals were awarded to the top five in each event. Members receiving medals:

*Donald Howard, 5th place, Business Computations & 2nd place, Intro to Business Communication *Takyra Johnson, 3rd place, Computer Concepts & 1st place, Marketing Concepts
*Avery Mitchell, 5th place, Marketing Concepts
*Ben Moffitt, 4th place, Computer Concepts

*Tobi Okegbenro, 2nd place, Business Spelling
*Christopher Powell, 4th place, Business Concepts
*Cannon Shirley, 5th place, Intro to Business Communication *Olivia Strother, 3rd place, Business Concepts
*Skyla Thompson, 1st place, Computer Concepts
*Grace Weldon, 2nd place, Computer Concepts

VRMS is proud of the fact that these are all 6th and 7th graders. They competed against 6th, 7th, AND 8th graders from other middle schools in the region.

Six-time STAR teacher, Alice taught Advanced Placement English, literature, composition, speech and theater for over twenty years, part of which time she also served as Director of Admissions, Development, Public Relations, and Alumni at Oak Mountain Academy. She is the managing partner of Ridley-Teal Properties and content editor for the City Menus. She is a board member of the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and enjoys playing flute with the Carroll Community Wind Ensemble.
