Bowdon High School Band Earns Superior Ratings

(Carrollton, Ga. – March 30, 2015) The Bowdon High School Band participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation at Woodland High School Cartersville on Thursday March 12. The band earned the highest possible rating of Superior for their stage performance. The band also earned a Superior rating in the Sight-Reading portion of the evaluation.

Selections performed included: P​lains West March​–William Owens, B​lue Lake Reflections​– Ed Huckeby, and C​ritical Mass​–Todd Stalter. Bowdon Bands are Directed by Jimmy Mauney and student teacher Taylor Moore.

Six-time STAR teacher, Alice taught Advanced Placement English, literature, composition, speech and theater for over twenty years, part of which time she also served as Director of Admissions, Development, Public Relations, and Alumni at Oak Mountain Academy. She is the managing partner of Ridley-Teal Properties and content editor for the City Menus. She is a board member of the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and enjoys playing flute with the Carroll Community Wind Ensemble.
