Fitness Depot Closes The Landing Location

The tail end of the Landing at Arbor Place...now without Fitness Depot.
The tail end of the Landing at Arbor Place…now without Fitness Depot.

Fitness Depot, the supercenter for fitness equipment and workout gear, has closed its store at The Landing at Arbor Place. Fitness Depot has been a fixture at the tail end of the main strip for years, surviving the recession and the emptying out of the center. We’re going to go in depth next week on the Landing at Arbor Place in our next Did You Know series. The Fitness Depot seems to be doing some downsizing in their retail department with only stores left in Marietta and Alpharetta. Fitness Depot used to have stores across the metro area, and most have closed. The company seems to be heading toward an online only model of business. No word on any replacement store as of today. Part of the research we are doing for the story next week is a back in time look at the glory days of The Landing and whether CBL Properties, the company that owns The Landing as well as Arbor Place Mall, is planning anything to turn the center around. We’ll keep you posted on any replacement, as well as look for our story next week.
