In early 2014, Goodyear tire up and left Douglasville after building their location on Stewart Pkwy. After their departure, the closest Goodyear location was all the way in the city of Atlanta. The building was left vacant for over a year. Word now that a tire and auto company that has a location in Hiram will soon be expanding to Douglasville and filling the vacancy. Southern Tire and Auto will be opening soon according to the sign placed out front on Friday. Southern Tire’s other location is off Hwy 92 across from Ben Strickland Park in Downtown Hiram. The store will offer new and used tires. Riding out in front today, work was already being done on the new location. Expect the opening sometime soon, and we will let you know when they do!
