Two GDOT projects are scheduled to begin in the next few weeks according to an email received from David Milliron, City Manager for Villa Rica.

The first project is repaving US Highway 78/Bankhead Highway for the entire stretch in northern Carroll County between the Douglas County and Haralson County lines. Paving will occur at night and take about four weeks to complete. Signage is already being installed along the highway.

The second project is the beginning stages for the construction of the Villa Rica North Loop. Staking of the right of way is scheduled to start on August 22 and take about two weeks. When completed, the north loop will connect Highway 101/Industrial Boulevard at the intersection with Rockmart Road with Highway 61/Dallas Highway near the intersection with Punkintown Road.
