Principal Triplett appointed to SSTAGE Board of Directors

Smokey Road Middle School Principal Dr. Keafer Triplett has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Student Support Team Association for Georgia Educators (SSTAGE).

Triplett’s appointment is for a three-year term as a Director at Large and began August 1.

Triplett has served as the principal of Smokey Road since 2015. He began his career in 1998 in DeKalb County Schools as a Health and Physical Education teacher and assistant football and track coach. He also taught in Marietta schools before coming to Coweta County in 2004 as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at East Coweta High School, later serving as an Assistant Principal at Northgate High School and supervisor for Coweta County’s Summer High School. Triplett earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Southern Mississippi, his master’s degree in Public Health and Health Administration, and a doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Established in 2007, SSTAGE provides leadership through collaboration, learning, and advocacy to promote the most effective Student Support Teams (SST) and the Response To Intervention (RTI) processes in Georgia schools. SSTAGE works in partnership with the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) and the Georgia Department of Education.

“Members of the SSTAGE Board of Directors serve a vital role in carrying out the mission of the organization which is to provide leadership through collaboration, learning and advocacy to enhance student competence,” said former SSTAGE Executive Director Lynn Pennington. “Dr. Triplett, along with other members of the board, is responsible for developing high-quality professional learning events for educators across the state.”
