Central High School Band Wins Grand Championship

On Saturday, October 22, 2016, the Central High School Marching Pride participated in the Grovetown Invitational in Augusta, Georgia. After winning first place in the Preliminary Competition, the Marching Pride advanced to the Finals earning their highest score of the season, a 97.8 out of 100. Along with the Festival Grand Championship, the Marching Pride earned Overall Championship Color Guard, Drum Major, Music, Visual, and the Overall Effects Awards. Under the leadership of Band Director Neil Ruby, the Pride was also proclaimed as the Grand Champions at the Armuchee Invitational in Rome, GA, and the Blue Ridge Marching Competition at Fannin County High School, making this their third Grand Championship of the season.

Over the past 19 years, the Marching Pride has earned 39 Grand Championships and earned a reputation as being one of the premier marching bands in the Southeast. Congratulations to the Marching Pride, Band Director Neil Ruby, and their 32 Band Seniors on these outstanding accomplishments. Go Pride Go!
