Charles C. Devane III (Chuck) has been named as Paramedic of the Year by the Region 4 EMS Council. Chuck has been with Coweta County Fire/Rescue since 2011 and is a Firefighter/Paramedic who began his career in a part-time position in February 2011, becoming full-time in February 2013.

The award is presented to a currently licensed Georgia paramedic who has contributed significantly to EMS at the community, regional and/or state level.

Planning Section Chief Jeff Denney nominated Devane. “I nominated Chuck because he has volunteered to teach numerous classes for the department and serves on the Protocols committee. He meets once a month with Law enforcement, DA, DFACS and the coroner to review child abuse and child fatality cases in Coweta to try to figure out how to prevent them in the future.”

The award was presented at the Region 4 EMS Awards Banquet held at the Coweta County Fair Grounds and Conference Center on January 17, 2017.
