Northgate Chamber Chorus Performs at Capitol

The Northgate High School Chamber Chorus at the Georgia state capitol building on March 21 included, left to right, first row, Charity DeLeo, Katelin LaFond, Morgan Miller, Samantha Morrison, director Julia Lotti, Lily Robles, Izzi Robles, Elise Wendelburg, Harley Rainwater, second row Ericka Pender, Abby Morelock, Lindsay Hall, Esther Riordan, Hope Kjar, Mackenzie Mardis, Sharna’l Angram-Ivory, Ashley Stephens, Samantha Dixon, Michaele Pruitt, third row, Emily Teel, Holly Clark, Savannah Richardson, Shandria Hill, Victoria Hanks, Meredith Chia, Emily Shaughnessy, Natalie Caylor, Kendall Proffitt, and accompanist Steve Shivers.​

The Northgate High School Chamber Chorus performed under the gold dome of the state capitol in Atlanta on March 21.

Choral members – under the direction of Julia Lotti – sang on the steps of the north wing of the capitol rotunda, at the invitation from the office of Representative Ron Stephens.

The students performed a variety of music including “Exaudi Laudate”, “Hope Is The Breath of Music”, “Fa Una Canzona”, “Stars, I Shall Find”, “Agnus Dei”, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”, and “Taylor, The Latte Boy”, featuring Harley Rainwater as the soloist. The group was accompanied by the Steve Shivers.

Several Senators, Representatives and visitors came to listen, and “we were very honored that Coweta Representative Lynn Smith was in the audience,” said Lotti.

The NGHS Chamber Chorus is made up of 10th, 11th and 12th grade girls, and is the most advanced women’s chorus at Northgate.
