Nate Daniels began his career at Bremen as a running back, but this past off-season
Head Coach Davis Russell asked him to move positions. His move may have earned
him a scholarship offer because Daniels signed on National Signing Day with the
Wingate University Bulldogs.
“We looked at our depth chart and realized we needed help in the secondary,” Russell
told the City Menus, “We came to him and said ‘we’re switching you to corner [back] and
you’ll be the best lockdown corner in the region.”
Daniels changed position for love of the game. He followed through with his Coach’s
promise and became one of the best lockdown corners in the region. Very physical on
the line of scrimmage, Daniels poses a threat with his 6’ frame. He’s a big hitter in open
space and rallies toward the ball when needed.
“He became our go-to corner this year.” Russell stated “His statline wasn’t impressive,
he had a pick-six in one game, but it’s more than that. Wingate is getting a steal.”
Blue Devil nation will definitely keep an eye on Daniels’ career as he moves on to the next level.
