Press Release from Charity Aaron of Carroll County Schools

(February 12, 2018, Carrollton, Georgia) Carroll County School System is pleased to announce that Whitesburg Elementary School is the recipient of Project Lead the Way Launch Grant, sponsored by Toyota Motor Company. The two-year grant will provide the students of Whitesburg with an innovative curriculum and supplies focused on 24 interdisciplinary modules that bring learning to life.

The program empowers students to adopt a design-thinking mindset through compelling activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the world around them. And, as students engage in hands-on activities in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, they become creative, collaborative problem solvers ready to take on any challenge.

“We’re excited and privileged to be recognized as a school that empowers students to thrive in an evolving world. Transformative learning experiences will come to life in the classroom thanks to the vision and dedication of teachers and administrators of Whitesburg Elementary School. We are grateful to Toyota Motor Company for affording us the opportunity to continue to offer innovative learning opportunities for our students,” stated Dr. Marissa Ogando, Principal of Whitesburg Elementary School.
