Carrollton Aldi Plans to Undergo Slight Expansion

UPDATE 2/22/2018 – Final plans have been submitted to the city of Carrollton for review and call for a 1,600-square-foot expansion, most of which will be extra sales floor space. Contractor and subcontractor bidding for the project just took place last week. No word on when construction will begin. We will continue to follow this project.

A local grocery store took its first step with the city recently to undergo a modest expansion. Aldi, at 1495 US 27 South, is planning to build an approximately 1,000-square-foot addition on the south side of the building next to Brock Street. The city recently approved a setback variance allowing the company to build the addition closer to the street in order to increase the store’s floor space. Aldi now has up to a year to submit final plans and apply for a building permit. We will keep an eye on this project and its progress going forward.
