Communities in Schools Hosts Interview Day at Central High School

(March 1, 2018, Carrollton, Georgia). Communities in Schools (CIS) hosted Interview Day at Central High School. More than 20 Carroll County employers participated in the event. Central High School Principal Mr. Jared Griffis was on hand to greet the local employers and thank them for donating their time to work with our students.

CIS is proud of the established partnership with the Carroll County Schools System. Central High School hosts Site Coordinator Ms. Corinne Hindman. “Ms. Hindman has had a positive impact on our students in a very short period of time,” stated Central High School Principal Mr. Jared Griffis. He continued, “We’ve seen a big improvement in the academic success of the students working with Ms. Hindman.”

Coordinating with the Central High School business department, CIS was able to offer a mock interview experience for 150 students. “We helped the students prepare resumes, cover letters, references and job applications for mock interview,” said Business Teacher and Department Chair Mrs. Sarah Hall, “Our students practice eye contact, and reviewed the “dos” and “don’ts” of what to wear for a job interview.”

Feedback from both the employers and students will help CIS and Central High School increase the number of students participating in job interviews. The goal of mock interview day is to create a seamless transition after high school for students entering the workforce.
