Villa Rica’s newest Mexican restaurant has high hopes of becoming a top destination for great food and family dining. Emmanuel Hernandez, general manager, says the idea for Gold Mexican came from the desire to create a Mexican restaurant that also connects with Villa Rica’s community history.
“We wanted to create a restaurant where we could serve people great food, but also one that would be a family-oriented place that really connects with the community,” says Emmanuel. “So, we named it Gold Mexican after Villa Rica’s history as being the City of Gold.”
Gold Mexican, located at 451 West Bankhead Highway, opened on February 22nd and has since served some happy customers.
“Everyone that comes in here will be treated like family,” says Emmanuel. “We want to get to know our customers and make them feel at home, and also get feedback from them on how we can do better to improve our cuisine. If the salsa is not thick enough or too spicy, let us know so we can fix it and make it better. We want people to be happy with our food and our service.”
Gold Mexican Restaurant offers mainly Tex-Mex menu items, but Emmanuel says the restaurant also has some authentic Mexican dishes that are full of flavor. The space has seating for up to 80 people, and Emmanuel says Gold Mexican hopes to have patio seating available soon.
“We want everyone to know that we focus on being a family-friendly place to eat great food,” says Emmanuel. “We have very affordable prices on our margaritas and other menu items. We offer 10 dollar fajitas, which is much cheaper than most places in the area.”
Gold Mexican Restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
