Med Ed is celebrating 10 years of serving the Newnan area with educational training services for emergency medical responders of all kinds. April Denney started the business with her husband, Coweta County Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Jeff Denney, as a means to provide lecture classes and certification for EMS and fire rescue professionals in the Newnan and Coweta County area.

April tells us, “These are the men and women you see at your scariest hours and it would be impossible for me to explain the joy we receive in watching their growth during the 10 months we spend with them.”

Assistant Chief Denney leads lecture classes at Med Ed and has a wealth of knowledge in EMS service. Under his leadership, Coweta County Fire and Rescue was honored as 2018 Service of the Year, an award given to the best ambulance service in the state of Georgia.

“My husband serves in two roles, one as a lecturer here at Med Ed, and the other at his position with Coweta County Fire and Rescue,” says April. “I have immense pride for my husband who has not only dedicated the majority of his life to saving lives but also to the education of our next generation of life saving public servants.”

Med Ed is located at 51 Market Square Road Suite D next to Partners Pizza and HJ Wings.

April jokes that the couple came up with the name “Med Ed” while signing documents for obtaining a license for the business.

“It was kind of funny: We were applying for a business license and they asked us what we wanted to call the business—which is something we hadn’t really thought of until that point,” says April. “So we jokingly said that since we provide medical education, we would just use the first few letters of each word. So we called it Med Ed.”

April says they are so happy to have been in business over 10 years and hope to serve the community for many more years to come. For more information, visit the Med Ed location, or call 678-326-0776.
