Elite Golf Cars of Georgia Is Truly A Family Business

Elite Golf Cars of Georgia provides some of the most original customized golf carts in the West Georgia area. The venture began after Daniel Murdock, owner, took a trip to the beach with his family and rented their first golf cart.

“We rented a golf cart to use instead of driving or walking around, and we loved it,” says Daniel. “After seeing how much my kids enjoyed it, I decided to buy one and fix it up a little. I ended up selling it after a while to buy a nicer one, and before I knew it, I had eight golf carts sitting in my yard. The business just blossomed from there.”

Daniel used his expertise in custom stereos to equip each cart with its own sound system, as well as upgrade the engines and other moving parts. He would buy carts, fix them up, and eventually sell them for a profit, all while working a regular 9 to 5 job to support his family.

“I realized that I could start a business out of it, and decided to give it a shot,” says Daniel. “We opened up and I operated a shop out of our house for a couple years. Then, we eventually opened a location on Highway 27 south of Carrollton.”

As his business grew and he added more happy customers, Daniel expanded to a bigger, better location off Highway 61 at 16 Sandhill Shady Grove Road, which is now home to Elite Golf Cars. The new building was perfectly equipped for Daniel’s needs with 3,200 square feet of space and a large loft area where he could store parts.

“We have been busy ever since moving to this location,” says Daniel. “People come from all around to have me fix their carts, or add all kinds of upgrades and new features. We’ll sometimes have 5-10 carts dropped off at a time in a day for us to work on.”

He now runs the business with the help of his wife, Chasity and son, Zack. Daniel says he hopes to open a storefront location in the Downtown area of Carrollton within the next year.

“We try to run our business the old-fashioned way and provide the best customer service we can,” says Daniel. “We are happy to be a part of the community and to support as many other local businesses as we can. We also thrive on happy customers, so we want everyone to come by and see what we have to offer.”
