The presence of McAlister’s Deli in Georgia continues to grow, as a new location is coming soon to Hiram.

“Paulding County and the City of Hiram are very excited to have McAlister’s Deli moving forward with its new restaurant location,” commented Paulding County Planning and Zoning Manager Chris Robinson.

McAlister’s Deli was founded in 1989 in the small town of Oxford, Mississippi by Dr. Don Newcomb. What started out as an old service station (which later became an abandoned movie set), soon became a retired dentist’s vision of a small restaurant.

With a unique menu featuring sandwiches, salads, and spuds, McAlister’s Deli has become known for their “genuine southern hospitality” and their famous sweet tea.

The 3,290-square foot restaurant will be located within the 5600 block of Wendy Bagwell Pkwy in Hiram. Although no official timeline has been given, construction is estimated to begin sometime in late July or early August.

“The project is in the civil plan approval stage with the anticipation of building plan submittal in the next few weeks,” explained Robinson.

Headquartered in Atlanta, McAlister’s Deli has over 400 restaurants in 28 states. The Hiram location would become the restaurant’s tenth location in Georgia. Other locations include Pooler, Kennesaw, Groveton, and Macon. For more information on McAlister’s Deli, you can check out their website.
