Tim’s Bait and Tackle Offers Lowest Prices Around

West Georgia’s newest bait and tackle shop is making waves and quickly gaining a reputation for having the lowest prices in the area. Tim’s Bait and Tackle, located at 1536 East Highway 78 next to Tim’s Auto Service, opened in March and has continually added to the store’s inventory selections.

“We’re getting new items in every day, and we really have a goal of being the biggest bait and tackle store in this area,” says Tim Summerville. “Almost every day we get people coming in here telling us that they didn’t know the store was here. We really enjoy having new customers come check us out because they are always impressed with how low our prices are.”

Tim owns both the store and Tim’s Auto Service and says he decided to open the store after his 13-year-old son Lane had said he wanted one day to own a bait and tackle store.

“I was fishing with my son, and I asked him what he wanted to do when he got older,” said Tim. “He said he wanted to run a bait and tackle shop.”

“I’ve owned the auto shop for several years now, but I’ve always wanted to open up a bait shop,” said Tim. “It just seemed like the right time to do it.”

Tim’s Bait and Tackle carries a full selection of lures of all kinds, rods and reels, and other fishing supplies. Tim noted that many of his repeat customers take advantage of the best live bait selection in the west Georgia area.

“We really strive to have the best live bait selection around this area,” says Tim. “We have small, medium, and large minnows, as well as crickets and locally-grown European worms. We take great care of our live bait and keep them indoors, which helps us maintain the high quality people want.”

Joe Weathington, store manager, says Tim’s Bait and Tackle carries all of the popular fishing brands like Strike King, Gary Yamamoto, Zoom, Lew’s, and much more.

“We’re always getting new items in every week,” says Joe. “If there’s something we don’t have in stock, I can almost guarantee we can order the product for our customer. We try to order the items that people ask about and want us to carry.”

    Tim’s Bait and Tackle is open seven days a week. Open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
