Harvest Some Fun at Ole McDermitt’s Pumpkin Patch

The fall season is in full swing at Ole McDermitt’s Pumpkin Patch! Ole McDermitt’s is located at 102 Baxter Road, just south of Carrollton and is a great destination for families and friends to enjoy some fun on the farm.

In addition to the Pumpkin Patch, Ole McDermitt’s offers hay rides across the farm, a petting zoo with lots of animals to meet, and a four-acre corn maze that is an adventure for adults and children of all ages. Kenny and Kayla McDermitt say that their farm is one of the only pumpkin patches in the west Georgia area.

“We’ve been doing the pumpkin patch here for nine years now, and it’s grown into something that people love to come out and see,” says Kenny. “We get people from all over coming out and bringing their families. It’s a fun little getaway from the big city.”

The farm is fully decorated for the harvest season, and the Pumpkin Patch is a great opportunity for lots of family photos.

“People love coming out here and taking pictures with their kids,” says Kayla, “It’s always fun to let them run around and see everything we have here and pet the animals.”

The farm has areas of seating in the barns for parents to sit back and let their children enjoy all that Ole McDermitt’s has to offer, from giant games of Yahtzee, Checkers, and Plinko to Connect Four.

“We have a smaller corn maze for the smaller kids that’s only about a third of an acre,” says Kenny. “We also have a “corn box” which is just like a big sandbox only it’s filled with corn kernels. There’s also some treasures hidden in the hay stacks that kids can search for, too.”

The Pumpkin Patch will only be around until November 2, so be sure to go by and visit Ole McDermitt’s Farm soon! Check out their website here for more information, or visit the Ole McDermitt’s Facebook page here to get updates straight from the farm!
