Mt. Zion Middle School Students Place 1st in Stock Market Game

(Carrollton, Ga. ­ May 12, 2015). Students from Mt. Zion Middle School along with their history teacher, Mr. Bryan Ballew, attended the 35th Annual Stock Market Game Awards Luncheon at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta on May 5. Each fall and spring, fourth through twelfth grade students participate in the stock market game by receiving a virtual $100,000 portfolio. The students must invest wisely and utilize skills from other content areas such as language arts, math, and computer skills to grow their investment. Eighth graders, Tyler Green and Brody Perry, placed 1st in the West Georgia region among 27 teams. The Stock Market Game is hosted by the Georgia Council on Economic Education (GCEE).
