Cover Me Southern to Collect Food for Homeless Students

Partner Cover Me Southern’s Villa Rica and Bowdon locations will be collecting items for the homeless students in the community. Read more of their statement they posted on their Facebook page:

“We at Cover Me Southern are teaming up with the Kiwanis club of Fairfield Plantation and the Carroll County School System on a project to collect food for homeless students in our Carroll County community.

Please bring in food items in exchange for a coupon card to use at CMS. The following is a list of items that are needed as some of these students do not have running water or electricity.

Food needs to be easily opened without the use of mechanical device and able to be eaten without being heated.
Suggested items by the Carroll County School System:
Peanut Butter
Crackers
Fruit cups
Applesauce in cups
Cereal bowl packs
Boxed milk
Protein bars
Granola bars
Fruit Snacks
Tuna fish in ready-to-eat packets
Beef jerky
Nuts
Raisins
Bottled water
Juice boxes

Food Items will be collected Feb 1st-Feb 13th

***Female hygiene products are a need as well***

Cover Me Southern’s Bowdon location is at 118 West College Street and their Villa Rica location is at 118 West Montgomery Street.
