New Store Moving into Former Rite Aid

A new discount store is planning to move into a building that was formerly home to the Villa Rica Rite Aid. City officials told The City Menus that Dollar Tree is set to open a new store inside the location at 62 Industrial Boulevard.

The Rite Aid closed on July 12 as part of a massive deal in which Rite Aid finalized the transfer of 1,932 stores and related assets to Walgreens Boots Alliance in March as part of a $4.2 billion buyout deal. Many of the old Rite Aid stores are being converted into Walgreens locations, but some are still vacant.

Dollar Tree received a permit on Wednesday for the new business location in Villa Rica and is expected to immediately begin renovations to the site. City officials told The City Menus that the interior remodel for the new store is expected to be completed within 60 days.

An official opening date for the new Dollar Tree store has not yet been announced.
