Renovations are underway for a section of buildings off West College Street in Bowdon. The owner plans to open a new restaurant in one of the spaces at 133 West College Street.

“We’re making renovations to the front of the buildings there, and we’ll be moving my wife’s office to one of the spaces,” said Steve Clegg, owner.

Clegg is also upgrading the front of Checker Berry Shoppe and his wife’s business, Karen Clegg & Associates, will have an office next to the store.

“I’m looking to open a restaurant in the space next to her office in a few months,” said Clegg. “We are doing renovations to the interior now to prepare to open. I’ve been in the restaurant business all my life, and I’ve always wanted to open a place of my own.”

Clegg said he does not have a name for the restaurant yet, but plans to have a full-service diner with health-focused menu items. The space was formerly home to BB’s Restaurant.

Be sure to catch the Fall Into Bowdon event on October 6th. Jan Gibbs, Main Street Director tells us, “We would like shoppers to see what downtown merchants have to offer during our focus on downtown shopping event. That day we will have entertainment at Heritage Park and on display in stores the scarecrows which are being constructed by Bowdon Elementary art students.”
