Roush Gallery Springs to Life with Seasonal Exhibit

The Carrollton Center for the Arts’ Bloom Into Spring exhibit celebrates the new season, April 11 – May 23.

“Each year, nature paints the landscape of spring using a remarkable palette of colors,” said Carrollton Arts Superintendent Tim Chapman. “The work featured in this exhibit really captures the beauty of the season that inspired it.”

Members of the Carrollton Artist Guild create artwork for their annual juried exhibit at the center, this year featuring scenes and subjects representative of spring. Artists compete with one another for awards selected by a special guest juror. The guild is comprised of artists whose goal is to network, critique, share and promote local participation in the arts. The guild hosts two art shows per year and sponsors other events.

A reception at the Center for the Arts on April 11, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., will mark the opening of the free exhibit.

The center will also host a Kid’s Miniature Garden Party as part of its Gallery Play Saturday series, Apr. 13, at 10 a.m. Children five and older will take a tour of the gallery then join Carroll County Master Gardeners for a workshop in which they will create their own miniature garden. Each child will create a 14-inch garden with themes like fairy, dinosaur, dragon and farm. Registration is $10 per child and an accompanying adult’s registration is free. All materials and snacks are included.
