Philadelphia natives, Kim Jones and Jackie Easley recently relocated to Villa Rica, Georgia, after visiting the area for several years. The couple and business partners are now opening Frankie Lee’s Southern Kitchen which is inspired by and named after Kim’s mother. The restaurant will serve freshly-prepared homemade meals.

For more than 30 years Kim worked in healthcare information technology. However, since the age of 8 years old her passion has always been cooking. During her career, she also owned a personal chef business in Philadelphia. She reflects on her childhood, “I always enjoyed watching my mother cook. I especially enjoyed reading recipe books, my favorite is The Joy of Cooking. I remember waiting enthusiastically each month for my Betty Crocker recipe cards to arrive in the mail. I am now my family’s favorite cook,” said Kim.

Kim’s dream of opening a restaurant is made possible by Jackie who describes himself as the backbone of the business. “Kim and I welcome everyone to our restaurant and look forward to building relationships. We look at Carrollton and Villa Rica as family communities, and we want our restaurant to embrace the families here,” said Jackie.

The grand opening of the restaurant is slated for Tuesday, August 6 beginning at 7 o’clock in the morning. Kim says, “Look for our daily specials! We will serve a host of family recipes, but most importantly each meal is prepared with love. I put my heart into it.”

The menu is primarily southern-style food with a variety of daily specials featuring family favorite meals. Customers can expect barbecue ribs, pulled pork, or brisket with the fixin’s on the weekend. Kim says, “Our menu will be developed based on customer feedback.” Additionally, catering services will be offered that extend beyond the restaurant’s menu.

Frankie Lee’s is located at 4921 Carrollton Villa Rica Highway, Villa Rica, Georgia. It will serve customers Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and will be closed Sunday and Monday.
