Film Work to Impact Traffic Near Downtown Newnan Next Week

(Last Updated On: August 9, 2019)

Film crews working in Newnan will be doing prep work and then shooting scenes at 155 Greenville Street South (US 27 ALT/Georgia 14) from Tuesday, Aug. 13 to Wednesday, Aug 21, 2019. For the safety of the production crew as well as area motorists, traffic control measures will be installed on a stretch of Greenville Street/US 27 ALT/Georgia 14 extending from Spence Avenue to Nimmons Street.

When the crews are unloading or loading their equipment at the site, signal flaggers will be in place to close one lane of traffic around their work zone and maneuver traffic to the remaining open lane.

On the days when the crews will be shooting scenes, Saturday, Aug. 17 through Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, law enforcement will install full closures of all lanes when needed for the production. The full closures will not be continuous, and when the workers are not actively shooting scenes traffic will be allowed to proceed with caution.

Motorists are urged to be alert when approaching the location and to watch for the direction of the signal flaggers and the law enforcement officers. Drivers should be patient while waiting or driving carefully through the work zone. For help with alternate routes, call Georgia 511 or check the free Georgia 511 app.
