Michelle Morgan Releases Statement Regarding Local Emergency Declaration

(Last Updated On: March 16, 2020)

Carroll County Board of Commissioners Chairman, Michelle Morgan shared the following statement:

“As Chairman of Carroll County, I am asking for help from every Carroll County citizen to have a role in stopping this virus.

Besides continuing to wash your hands, if you are sick please stay home.  If you have a member of your household that is sick, please have the whole family stay home also.

As a mom of 3 millennials, let us follow their example of using text messaging and social media to stay in touch with our friends and neighbors.  Our senior citizens are our most vulnerable population so please check on those seniors you know on a regular basis.

By declaring a local state of emergency, I have allowed our emergency management team to access federal and state resources as needed. This can be anything from assisting us with supplies we do not currently have to financial aid.

I am thankful for the wonderful support group I have in our municipal leaders, city and county superintendents, faith-based volunteers and Carroll County staff and district commissioners. Together ALL of us can be successful.”

Sincerely,

Michelle Morgan
