Caleb Griffis named Positive Athlete

Central High School rising senior, Caleb Griffis, was named the Most Positive Boys Basketball Athlete in West Georgia by the Positive Athlete Association. Positive Athlete recognizes students in the 9-12 grade based on their character rather than their athletic performance. This year the program will recognize 5,000 student-athletes and coaches from over 430 high schools. Only about 7% of those nominated are recognized as regional winners.

Each of the regional winners has overcome difficult circumstances or has significantly given back to their communities and schools. Positive Athlete focuses on optimism, putting the team first, encouraging others, being respectful, admitting imperfections, having a true heart for others, and embracing service.

Caleb has been a member of the varsity basketball team, varsity baseball team, and varsity football team since his 9th grade year. He is President of the Interact Club, an active member of Beta Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, is a member of the Georgia High School Association Student Athlete Advisory Council. This year he was named a Junior Marshal and participated in the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021.
