Hollywood Hits and Music Stars Come to Carrollton’s AMP This Summer

The City of Carrollton announced the Amp’s much-anticipated 2021 calendar with a schedule of concerts and movies sure to draw thousands of people to the city’s downtown amphitheater this summer and fall. 

This year’s Amp Concert Series roster is packed with music legends and area favorites, starting with the Prince tribute act, The Purple Experience, on June 26. The North Mississippi Allstars bring their blues stomp to the Amp, July 17. Alison Krauss’ right hand guitar man, Dan Tyminski, and his stellar band land in Carrollton, August 21. Yacht Rock, featuring the smooth music of the 1970s and 80s, will close out the season, September 24. The Amp Concert Series is sponsored by Scott Evans Automotive. 

In addition to the city-sponsored concert series, there will be other Amp events this season, including the popular Journey tribute band, Departure, sponsored by Irish Bred Pub, on September 18.

The Amp’s 2021 Summer Movie Series will inaugurate the facility’s new state-of-the-art, digital screen with family favorites, Trolls World Tour on June 4, Moana on June 11, Guardians of the Galaxy on June 18, Monsters University on July 9, Aladdin (2019) on July 23 and The Croods: A New Age on August 6. The Tammie Pero Allstate Agency, Almon Funeral Home and Wren’s Body Shop are this year’s movie series sponsors.

Movies start at 7:00 pm and concerts start at 8:00 pm. All events at the Amp are free. No professional photography is allowed during the shows at the Amp. Please visit carrolltonga.com/amp for updates, venue guidelines and policies.
