Carroll County School System held its annual District Spelling Bee on January 14, at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center. Eighteen students from Carroll County elementary and middle schools participated in the event. After 16 rounds of competition, Charlie Duke, a seventh-grade student from Bowdon Middle School, earned first place by correctly spelling the word, “abracadabra”.
