Doughnut shop will bring classic and creative flavors to the growing new urbanist town this fall

Pihakis Restaurant Group is excited to announce Hero Doughnuts and Buns will open its second metro Atlanta location in Trilith in Fayetteville, Ga. in the fall of 2022. Located adjacent to Trilith Studios, the second largest movie studio in North America, Town at Trilith is a booming mixed-use development consisting of extraordinary homes, luxury apartments, micro homes, public greenspace, nature trails, parks, unique shops and restaurants.

“The Hero team has had its eyes on the community for years,” said founder and partner Wil Drake. “We have personal ties to Fayette County and an understanding of the opportunities and dynamic growth in the area which makes us thrilled to expand to Trilith.”

Started as a pop-up shop in Pepper Place Farmer’s Market in Birmingham, Ala., Hero Doughnuts and Buns has grown to include two restaurants in Birmingham, Ala. and additional locations in Atlanta and Charleston, S.C. Through a partnership with Capstone Development Partners, the doughnut shop plans to expand nationwide and fuel its growth by opening storefronts in a variety of locations including universities and bourgeoning communities.

The evolution of founder Wil Drake’s vision to bring authentic, brioche-style doughnuts with creative and classic flavor combinations has morphed into a casual, all-day dining experience with a robust menu.

“Hero Doughnuts is all about connecting to the community and having fun which makes them perfect for our town of artists, creators and entrepreneurs,” said Rob Parker, president of Trilith. “They’re in tune with Fayetteville and its residents, so they’ll be a wonderful addition to our booming food scene and retail district.”

Hero Doughnuts and Buns bakes gourmet breakfast pastries with a wide range of flavors including classics like chocolate glazed, raspberry jam, Boston cream and apple fritters in addition to unique creations like maple sea salt, blueberry crumble, pistachio and cereal milk. Along with its signature doughnuts, the menu offers full breakfast plates, burgers, lunch sandwiches, salads and sides.

Guests can order Domestique Coffee including espresso drinks, draft lattes and nitro cold brew. Fun adult beverages—beer, wine, mimosas, spiked lattes and other brunchy drinks are also available. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors will be welcomed by friendly, enthusiastic employees into the cheerful, fun space with the promise of good times and great food.

“Hero is one of the best independent concepts emerging in the Atlanta food scene, and we are thrilled to welcome them to our Two Ten building in the heart of Trilith,” added Bill Lynch, principal of Pace Lynch Corporation, owner of Two Ten. “With over 30 concepts curated for Trilith already, Hero adds perfectly to the mix with exceptional breakfast and lunch offerings that will soon become a ‘must hit’ spot for South Metro Atlanta.”
