Berani Femme Couture Holds Ribbon Cutting Celebration

(Last Updated On: August 15, 2022)

From e-commerce to brick and mortar, Michelle Davis is bringing Berani Femme Couture, a new scrub and medical supply store, to Villa Rica. The store celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, August 13. An official ribbon cutting was held on Monday, August 15, with Main Street Villa Rica present along with The City Menus. Both openings featured food and giveaways. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, today, August 15 offers more chances to win free scrubs and gift bags containing various items from throughout the store; the store will be open during its regular business hours, from 11:30 a. m. to 8:30 p. m.

Berani Femme Couture will carry scrub brands like Koi, Healing Hands, and Grey’s Anatomy Scrubs, while Davis, the owner and nurse of 14 years, is expecting to introduce her own brand in December. Some of the medical gear in the store includes slip-resistant shoes, stethoscopes, and “everything you need in healthcare to work at a hospital,” Davis says. “If you need it, we will have it.” The store will also feature a special board on which patrons can write affirmations about themselves or someone else.

Davis is originally from Florida and moved to Georgia about two and a half years ago. Her idea for a scrub and medical supplies store had been germinating since before her move, but with school and kids keeping her quite busy she had “put it on the back burner.”

Located at 596 GA-61, Suite B, this new brick-and-mortar store with Berani in the name–the Malay word ”berani” meaning “feminine, bold, brave, and courageous”–sprouted after Davis had made some hour-long drives to get scrub and medical gear. While making that drive she figured that others must be tired of it, too. Davis also realized that Villa Rica was in the middle of many medical professionals with a hospital in Carrollton and another in Hiram, each just 20 minutes away, and a third hospital just ten minutes away in Douglasville. Davis’ idea came back to the forefront of her mind and she decided, “This time I’ll do it instead of…letting life get in the way.”

Davis has built a community with not only other nurses but also doctors and practitioners. She has received support from people in the Douglasville, Carrollton, and Villa Rica areas and say,  “[I] look forward to bringing you all an experience for shopping closer to home.”

The store is open seven days a week, with hours from 11:30 a. m. to 8:30 p. m. For more information on the scrub and medical supply shop visit the website at beranifemmecouture.com/ or find it on Facebook at BFF Couture Boutique or Instagram at bff_couture.
