Bowdon Middle School Veterans Day Celebration

Bowdon Middle School celebrated our local Veterans today as we dedicated our new flag pole and flag to their honor and memory. This flag pole, located at our athletic fields, was gifted to us this summer and the American flag was recently purchased by the Bowdon Kiwanis club. Joe Harrod, Bobby Laney, Steve McEwen, Dale Robinson, and Ben Sinclair from American Legion Post 143 in Carrollton took part in this dedication. These Veterans folded our new flag and explained to the students the meaning of each fold in the flag. After the ceremony, all of the students and staff went down to the fields to see the flag being raised for the first time. The flag is a beautiful addition to our campus and we look forward to adding lights in the future so the flag will always be raised as a reminder of the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans.
