Mike Parris is “Coming Back Home”. Gradick Communications is pleased to announce the addition of Mike Parris as their new Sports Director. A seasoned sports broadcaster with a distinguished career, Parris brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for sports to the Gradick Communications team.
After starting his broadcast career at WLBB-WBTR in 1979, Parris spent four years locally before heading to Anniston, AL where he’s been for the last 24 years. His career has been marked by numerous accolades, including being named the Alabama Sportscaster of the Year in 2022 by the National Sports Media Association. As the “Voice of the Gamecocks,” Parris has been the lead announcer for Jacksonville State University (JSU) athletics, where he called some of the most historic and memorable moments in the university’s sports history. His dedication to excellence earned him a spot in the JSU Athletics Hall of Fame.

In his new role as Sports Director, Parris will oversee all sports programming across Gradick Communications’ stations. He will also lead the live coverage of local high school football games, and special sports events, ensuring that listeners in West Georgia and beyond continue to receive top-tier local high sports broadcasting.

Parris’ experience broadcasting with Gradick Communications began in 2022 calling local High School Football games.
