The Goldway: Villa Rica’s Multi-Use Trail Network in Progress

The Goldway is excited to share news about Villa Rica’s upcoming multi-use trail network.

The Goldway project aims to unify urban and rural areas in Villa Rica, fostering a more workable environment and reducing car-centric development. The Goldway adapts the original Gold Nugget Trail plan, addressing previous challenges and improving upon connectivity and nature preservation. The problem-solution approach makes the Goldway functional for both nature observers and everyday travelers. Offering diverse environments and experiences for all types of trail users, four distinct trails totaling approximately 25 miles comprise the The Goldway.

Throughout the trail, you can soak up gorgeous views of Mirror Lake, Little Tallapoosa River, and Bay Springs Creek. In addition to scenic appeal, the Goldway allows easy access to central in-town areas, such as Downtown Villa Rica, Fullerville, and Eastside.

There are several high-density developments linked to the Goldway: the new mixed-use development on Old Stone Road along the new Fortune Parkway, Villa Rica Parkway/New Publix development, the new Punkintown Road at North Bypass development, and the mixed-use development on Gordon Street in downtown. Furthermore, The Goldway will connect to several local schools including Villa Rica High School. To get a better understanding of the Goldway’s proposed plan, take a look at the map at the top of the article.

The focus of the new plan is enhancing the trail system, better serving the community’s needs by maximizing existing paths, linking key areas, and integrating urban and historical contexts. All four trails are connected to various developments, making everyday transportation more accessible throughout Villa Rica.

The Station Trail is currently the primary focus and is approximately 24% complete. The Goldway seeks investors who are passionate about bringing this development to life.
