Third, fourth and fifth graders at Peeples Elementary School in Fayette County spent a day learning about money from local financial experts. Representatives from Delta Community Credit Union, Georgia’s largest credit union, visited several classrooms throughout the day to teach age-appropriate and interactive lessons on earning, saving, spending and giving.
Following the success of last year’s financial literacy event at the school, Peeples Elementary and the credit union held the youth financial workshops again—this time, teaching nearly 400 students.
Delta Community representatives also presented the school with a $1,000 award through the credit union’s Schools Program, which focuses on providing support and resources to students in metro Atlanta.
