Central High School student, Alysa North, set a new Microsoft Office Certification standard by earning a perfect score on all sections of the Microsoft Office Specialist Word examination. Students are eligible to take the test following a year of coursework in a specialized program area. Students must score a minimum of 700 points on the test in order to pass; Alysa scored 1000 points. Her perfect score included 100% in the areas of Create and Manage Documents, Format Text and Paragraphs and Sections, Create Tables and Lists, Apply References, and Insert and Format Objects.
“I’ve been teaching business education courses for more than 20 years and this is a first for me. Alysa’s score sets a new standard and I’m very proud of the dedication she demonstrated while taking my class,” said Dr. Dwayne Vick, Central High School Business Education teacher.
