At the corner of Stadium Drive and Wedgewood Drive land is being cleared for 290+ additional parking spaces for the City Schools. The new lot will provide much needed student parking, parking for Mabry Performing Arts Center, and the Stadium. Carrollton City Schools have a land lease agreement with SMI for 15 years. There are wetlands on the property but no wetlands will be disturbed with the construction. The parking lot was designed with that in mind. Mike Sanders (Assistant Superintendent), spoke with us over the phone earlier today and is very excited about the project along with the entire staff.
