Arbor Place Retailer Closes, Goes Macy’s Exclusive

One of Arbor Place’s original tenants has closed their space at the mall after 15 years. Motherhood maternity has been in the mall since the doors opened in 1999, the space was located next to Hot Topic. While the space at the mall has closed, there appears to be a reason behind the change. Macy’s has now begun selling Motherhood Maternity products online and in their stores. A little digging has found that this is going to be a business change company wide as stores across the country will be consolidated into the Macy’s family. Sephora is doing the same thing opening stores as outparcel spots inside JCPenney stores in areas where the population is much smaller. We can assume this is in the future at the JCPenney Arbor Place location (and why they haven’t opened yet at Arbor Place, but Ulta getting there first might have had something to do with it). They have already done this at the Hiram location. No word on what will take their spot, but you can bet we’ll be watching intently.
