Ms.Lena Hardy has been named Miss Douglas County USA for 2017, and will represent Douglas County in the Miss Georgia USA Pageant in November.
Ms. Hardy is the daughter of LTC (retired) Anthony Hardy, Sr., and Jacqueline Hardy, a Douglas County educator. She is a graduate of Lithia Springs High School and the University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication and Film with a concentration in Broadcast News. She is the Electronic Records and Information Coordinator for the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and is the co-founder of Hardy Elite Sports.
Ms. Hardy was selected Miss Douglas County USA through an application and interview process, since Douglas County does not host a local pageant. The Miss Georgia USA Pageant will take place November 17 – 19 at the Henry County Performing Arts Theatre in McDonough. The Miss USA program has been held annually since 1952, and the National winner represents the USA in the Miss Universe Pageant.
Ms. Hardy will compete in swimsuit, gown, and interview competitions.
Ms.Hardy is described by family and friends as “driven, focused, and intelligent”. In addition to several published articles using her communications skills, her Hardy Elite Sports work focuses on enriching the lives and enhancing the skills of young boys through the game of basketball.
Sponsors to help bring the title to Douglas County are requested. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with Ms. Hardy’s expenses at https://www.GoFundMe.com/2k3gs5jk. All donations will be used for registration fees, competition wardrobe, and competition training. Tickets to the November pageant are available at www.MissGeorgiaUSA.com.
