SpinnerZ Family Skate Center is preparing to host its annual New Year’s Eve-Eve All Night Skate party on Friday December, 30. The event will be held from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and will feature a night filled with music, games, and prize giveaways.

“We have made a few changes to this year’s event,” said Kim Corbitt, who has owned SpinnerZ since 2009. “We decided to host the event on Friday night instead of on New Year’s Eve because we understand that it can be hard for parents to pick up their kids at 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day.”

The event has drawn as many as 150-200 children in recent years, and Corbitt expects to have the same large turnout for this year’s celebration.

“We always have a great turnout, and we also make sure the kids have a lot of fun,” said Corbitt. “Kids can show up starting at 7 p.m. and our games will start at midnight. We will also be giving away prizes throughout the night.”

Corbitt said ticket prices have been lowered from $25 to $20, and each participant will receive a free breakfast at 5 a.m.

“A lot of people think all-night skating events are a thing of the past, but we still have our’s annually before the New Year,” said Corbitt.

Since their reopening the business in 2010, the rink building has seen major upgrades.

“The building has been here for decades—I remember skating here when I was a kid—but we have replaced and added a lot of things to it since we took it over,” said Corbitt. “When we bought the business, we purchased lots of things, like new skates, and added a lot of upgrades to the building itself, such as new concessions and carpet. We’re in the process of purchasing new carpet after the New Year and redoing the bathrooms.”

Corbitt also noted that SpinnerZ will soon feature new arcade games.

Throughout the year, SpinnerZ is open to the public, and also available to host private parties for birthdays, banquets, and fundraisers.

“We have lots of parents who host their kid’s birthday parties here,” said Corbitt. “Everything is provided to the kids; all the parents need to do is purchase a cake. We have plates, forks, and cups, and each party package includes one slice of pizza and one drink for each child. The birthday child also gets a free SpinnerZ t-shirt.”

Corbitt also noted that SpinnerZ hosts many children’s sports team banquets, as well as church events.

“We have a wide variety of games and music for the kids to enjoy,” said Corbitt. “Our rink also has black-lights, disco balls, and a large projector screen.”

SpinnerZ is located at 117 N Highway 113 in Carrollton and is open:
-Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m.
-Friday from 7 – 11 p.m.
-Saturday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.
-Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m.
