Ryan Ayers, Agricultural Education Instructor at the South College and Career Academy, was recently recognized as the Georgia Young Farmers Outstanding Adviser of the Year at the 49th Annual Georgia Young Farmers Convention held in Augusta, Georgia. Mr. Ayers has been teaching agriculture in Carroll County for ten years and has served as the Carroll County Young Farmers Association Chapter Adviser for the past three years.
In addition to Mr. Ayers’ award, the Carroll County Young Farmers Chapter earned the title Outstanding Chapter of the Year and was recognized for having the greatest increase in membership for the state. The Carroll County Young Farmers Chapter currently has 250 members.
“The Carroll County Young Farmers Association has shown tremendous support for our program, the youth of Carroll County, and my family. This recognition is testament to our school system’s and our community’s commitment to keeping agriculture vibrant and robust in our area,” stated Mr. Ayers.
