During a Douglasville City Council Legislative work session on August 29, plans were presented for a possible oil change business to take the spot of the former Long John Silvers along Highway 5.
A few days after the work session, plans were approved and construction was set to begin on Take 5 Oil Change. Demolition of the Long John Silvers commenced this past week and soon the land will be cleared for the new construction.
The first location for Take 5 Oil Change was in Metairie, Louisiana, during 1984. It is one of the fastest growing oil change businesses in the country.
Take 5 is now in 18 states and is part of the Driven Brands family which includes Meineke, Maaco, and several other popular brands. Driven Brands was not available for comment at press time.
