Local artisans across west Georgia now have a new shop to be featured in that is located at 203 ½ East Main Street in Hogansville. Shoppes on Main opened its doors in the city’s historic downtown district and celebrated a ribbon cutting November 9.
Shop owner Allison Creel cheerfully explains, “I’ve always had a dream in the back of my head to open a store front. Somewhere that I could make my things but also sell them. Many artists just want somewhere for their products to be seen. That’s what we are trying to do here at Shoppes on Main. Giving other people, just like me, the opportunity to have their things available to the public. So when you walk in the doors here, you’re not just seeing my dream. You’re seeing the dream of about 20 other small businesses coming true.”
Shoppes on Main features vendors from all over the region, including Hogansville, Newnan, Grantville, Fayetteville, and Atlanta.
Being a crafter herself for eight years, Allison now has a place for those looking to escape the weather, long drives, and heavy lifting to enjoy setting up shop for their unique crafts. She concludes, “The business community has welcomed us with open arms, and the residents as well. Everyday we are meeting more people from the town. It’s truly a dream come true.”
The store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and can be contacted by calling (678) 675-2618.
