The city of Villa Rica recently partnered with Walton Communities to create Legacy at Walton Trail. The 55+ housing project is in the ‘Phase Two’ of their construction located at 200 Walton Way in Villa Rica. “Phase 2 will replace the remainder of our units at Old Town.” said Chairman of the project Phil Blair. The Grand Opening for Phase 1 took place on September 28th at 11:00 a.m.
Legacy at Walton Communities will feature amenities such as high speed internet, large closets, and an intuitive floor plan. It is also a short-iron away from The Frog Golf Club, Mirror Lake Golf Club and a number of restaurants such as Los Cowboys, La Fiesta and Jerry’s Gourmet Burgers. The Project will also feature a beautiful Gazebo, a private fitness center and many other benefits.
The housing project is coming with many more benefits, mainly the security and sense of safety at the project. “The partnership allows us to provide an updated facility with indoor gathering areas along with a secured building. It was important to our board that our new housing be secured so our residents could lay their heads down at night with a sense of security,” said both Blair and board member Rob Smith. “By partnering with Walton Communities it allows for more affordable housing to be made available on our property. The housing authority itself will remain the same size with the same amount of residents but The Legacy at Walton Trail will offer additional affordable housing.”
The Legacy at Walton Trail is open for appointments and is accepting applications for residentship. Although it is a 55+ community, there are special exemptions for residents under 55 as well as accommodations for those who have children and grandchildren. The Legacy at Walton Communities is ready to host those who are looking for a quiet and affordable place to live! In closing, Chairman Blair would like to thank executive director Dick Chambers, current board members Amalie Hyneman, Tom Flowers, Rob Smith, and Michael Young along with Mayor Gil McDougal and all the great community volunteers of the Villa Rica Housing Authority.
